What was supposed to be a fairytale evening for "Bridgerton" fans in Detroit over the weekend devolved into chaos, with attendees complaining that the Regency-era ball had raw food, cheap decor and hardly any staff to help.
The event, hosted by Uncle & Me LLC, promised an "evening of sophistication, grace, and historical charm" with dancing, live music, dinner, and drinks. However, attendees reported that the event featured lackluster decorations and performances from just one exotic dancer and a solo violinist.
Attendees expressed their disappointment and frustration on social media, with some comparing the event to Fyre Festival and Willy Wonka's experience in Glasgow. The event organizer, Chelsea Beard, issued an apology statement on her Instagram page, acknowledging that the event did not meet expectations and taking full responsibility for the shortcomings.
Some attendees want their money back, while others want organizers to hold a makeup event that exceeds their expectations. As of Wednesday afternoon, organizers have not reached out to most attendees regarding the issues.
