A space adventure with big choices and time twists
Sun Jun 07 2026
A new sci-fi game called Exodus is on the way, dreamed up by developers who once worked on the popular Mass Effect series. The game puts players in the role of Jun Arslan, a character whose home planet is slowly falling apart because of a space virus called The Rot. But here’s the twist: players get to shape Jun’s identity from the start, picking their gender and appearance before jumping into a galaxy full of strange allies and tough decisions.
One of the game’s biggest surprises is how time works. Planets can age decades while you’re off finishing a mission, meaning the world you left behind might look completely unrecognizable when you return. That changes not just the scenery, but also the people you meet and the stories you uncover. It’s a clever way to make every choice feel meaningful, not just a quick yes or no. Players also get to pick a side—Paladin or Immortal—which tweaks how characters treat them and how the main story unfolds.
Combat isn’t just about shooting; it’s about strategy. Gadgets like a cloaking suit help sneak past enemies, while heavy weapons clear paths when things get messy. The gameplay demo showed off everything from puzzle-solving in alien ruins to team-based boss fights where players control companions using a quick menu. The boss itself required teamwork and timing, using both brute force and gadgets to take it down.
The developers have kept quiet about most plot details, but they promise more updates before the game arrives in early 2027. It’s coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, making it one of the next big sci-fi experiences to watch.
