The box office had a scary weekend. It was the worst of the year and the worst Halloween in 32 years. But why? Some say it's because of the World Series or Halloween itself. But maybe, just maybe, it's because the movies were not good. Let's look at the movies that came out. There was "Regretting You, " "Black Phone 2, " "Chainsaw Man, " and "K-Pop Demon Hunters. " There was also a Springsteen movie, "Bugonia, " "Roofman, " "Tron: Jared Leto, " and "One Battle After Another. " And don't forget "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. "
None of these movies were popular. The total revenue was only $49. 8 million. That's the lowest since 1993, not counting the pandemic closures in 2020. Maybe the movie industry should think about what people want. Maybe they should make movies that people like. But probably not. They seem to like making movies that people don't like. So, what can we do? Maybe start a Blu-ray collection. It's a good way to watch movies you like.
