Google's latest Android Auto update, version 13. 4, is bringing a fresh look to your car dashboard. This time, they're introducing Material You accent colors. While the update is rolling out to all users, the most noticeable change is the splash of colors in the user interface (UI).
Imagine driving your Pixel 9 Pro Fold and seeing your Android Auto dashboard match your phone's wallpaper colors. That's what's happening now! Google has applied accent colors to buttons, toggles, and the background colors of cards and menus. This was previously seen in music apps, where the UI matched the album art. Now, it's becoming a system-wide feature.
To see the new colors, you need to have the setting for matching your phone’s wallpaper turned on. You'll notice the changes in the Settings menu, notifications, and the notification center. However, it seems Google is still working on this feature. The colors don't always update immediately when you change your phone's theme. Sometimes, you might need to force stop the Android Auto app and reconnect to see the changes.
So, what do you think? Are you seeing these colorful changes in your vehicle? Let us know how it’s working for you!
