Auburn Shines for Linebacker Prospect Joakim Gouda

Joakim Gouda, a four‑star linebacker from McEachern High School in Georgia, recently spent a day at an Auburn Tigers practice. He watched the team work hard and found the energy exciting. The coach’s focus on “intentional” drills stood out to him, a quality Auburn has built since new staff arrived. During the visit, Gouda talked mainly with defensive coordinator DJ Durkin. He praised Durkin’s passion and said the coach “really cares” about his job.Gouda plans another official visit in June, and he listed Auburn among the five schools he is considering. His other options are Florida, Texas, Georgia and Alabama. In national rankings, he is 199th overall for the 2027 class and 15th best linebacker. Auburn would welcome him as a solid addition to its upcoming recruiting class, though the team will face competition from other SEC schools. He praised Auburn’s surroundings: friendly coaches, talented teammates, and a welcoming atmosphere.
