Something new is happening at Banijay Entertainment! Steve Matthews, who joined Banijay in 2023, has been given a big new job. He's now the Head of Scripted, Creative. And Johannes Jensen, who's been leading Banijay Nordic, is now the Head of Scripted, Business. Together, they'll work with Banijay's more than 60 scripted labels. Frédéric Balmary, who's in charge of Banijay's overall scripted efforts, thinks this change will make the company stronger. He said that with Matthews and Jensen in these new roles, Banijay will be able to innovate and stay a big player on the global stage.
Matthews has been a key person at Banijay since he left his job at HBO Europe. He's been helping the company's scripted producers and guiding global initiatives. When Christian Wikander left last year, Matthews took on even more responsibility. Jensen has also been doing great things. He's merged two major companies, Jarowskij and Yellow Bird, into one.
Denis Leroy is staying in his role as Senior Director. He's the expert in finding and developing international scripted formats and book IPs. Jensen believes that to be successful in a competitive environment, a company needs to create and use powerful scripted ideas. He thinks this new structure will help Banijay stay influential globally. Matthews agrees, saying that supporting and empowering creative teams is the key to making great stories.
Banijay has some amazing shows, like SAS: Rogue Heroes, The Rig, and NCIS: Sydney. It's clear that with these new roles, Banijay is ready to make even more exciting content.
