Big investors are pouring money into digital currencies, even when the market feels uncertain. In just seven weeks, over $2. 6 billion was invested in these assets. Bitcoin trusts grabbed the biggest chunk with $940 million, while Ethereum attracted $423 million. Even smaller coins like Bittensor saw some action, with $724, 000 in investments. Solana, however, had a small pullout of $2. 55 million. One major player, Strategy, made some huge Bitcoin buys. They purchased 10, 624 BTC on December 7 and then 10, 645 BTC a week later. That's nearly $2 billion in Bitcoin in just two weeks. With Bitcoin currently trading around $87, 170, Strategy's massive holdings are now worth about $58. 26 billion. But there's a problem: even with all that Bitcoin, Strategy's market net asset value (mNAV) is dropping. It's now around 0. 91, which isn't good. When the mNAV is below 1, it's tougher for the company to get fresh cash. This drop shows that the crypto market is still cautious. To stay stable, Strategy set up a $1. 44 billion cash reserve. This money will help pay dividends and means they won't have to sell any of their Bitcoin. It's a smart move to stay afloat in uncertain times.
The trend of big money flowing into crypto isn't slowing down. In the week of December 15 to 21, Bitcoin saw another $980 million in investments, and Ethereum got $313 million. Experts say the Federal Reserve's rate cut on December 10 played a big role. It put more money into the market and made borrowing cheaper for big investors. There's also a new accounting rule that lets companies report crypto price gains as net income. This is a big deal because it treats digital assets like a permanent part of their investments. It's a shift that could bring even more money into crypto. Big investors are focusing on Bitcoin and Ethereum because they're safe bets with lots of liquidity. But they're also keeping an eye on smaller assets like Bittensor, especially after its recent halving event. This shows that while they're playing it safe, they're also looking for high-reward opportunities. All this money flowing in is making digital asset trusts more valuable. It's narrowing the discount these trusts usually trade at, making them a cheaper way to invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Looking ahead, these trusts might have an edge over spot ETFs because they can offer staking rewards and use assets for strategic deals. This could make them more attractive to investors.
