"Avatar: Fire and Ash" is still the king of the box office. It's been five weekends, and it's still number one. The movie made $13. 3 million over the weekend and $17. 2 million over the four-day holiday. So far, it's earned $363. 5 million in the U. S. and $1. 31 billion worldwide. But it's not doing as well as the first two Avatar movies. Those movies made almost three billion dollars each.
Meanwhile, "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" had a rough start. It only made $13 million over the weekend. Experts thought it would make more, around $20 million. The movie has good reviews, but it came out too soon after the last movie in the series. That might be why people didn't go see it. It's also the most expensive movie in the franchise, so this isn't great news for Sony.
Other movies are doing okay. "No Other Choice, " a dark comedy, made $2. 2 million over the weekend. "Hamnet, " a movie about Shakespeare, made $1. 3 million. And "Dead Man’s Wire, " a crime thriller, made $1 million.
Some older movies are still in the top five. "Zootopia 2" is still making money, even after eight weekends. It's now the highest-grossing animated movie ever. "The Housemaid" is also doing well. It's a psychological thriller that's made over $100 million in the U. S. "Marty Supreme" is another hit. It's A24's highest-grossing movie in the U. S. so far.
