Calling all Southern Colorado residents, it’s time to bundle up! A Cold Weather Advisory is in place until Monday's 5 p. m. deadline. We're talking wind chills that could plummet to a whopping -25 degrees Fahrenheit. Tonight, most of us will face below-zero temperatures, except for the Eastern Plains, where it will be slightly warmer with lows in the single digits.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day might seem cold with highs ranging from single digits to low teens across Southern Colorado. Expect snow chances to continue throughout the day until late afternoon or evening, but don't worry, it should be dry by Monday night.
Fast forward to Monday afternoon, and an Extreme Cold Watch kicks in until Tuesday morning, with wind chills as low as 35 degrees. Monday night will be bone-chillingly cold, with many towns dipping well below zero.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, we'll start warming up, with most of Southern Colorado finally climbing above freezing. Along I-25 and the Eastern Plains, expect highs in the 30s, while the High Country might hit the 20s. Our skies will remain clear and dry.
For the latter half of the workweek, highs will soar to the 30s and 40s along I-25 and the Eastern Plains, with the High Country hovering between the teens and 30s. Latest forecasts show a dry spell during this period.
