The researchers also found that when cells are exposed to low oxygen for a short time, AnxA6 activity goes down. But if the exposure is longer, AnxA6 activity goes up. This suggests that AnxA6 is a gene that responds to low oxygen, and it might be a good target for new treatments. However, more research is needed to fully understand how AnxA6 works in these cells and how it can be used to overcome drug resistance.
