California's Wet Christmas: Floods and Snow on the Menu

Los Angeles might see one of its wettest Christmases ever. 100-150mm of rain is expected between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Flooding and mudslides are likely. High ground run-off adds to the risk. Travel could be tricky. Yosemite National Park is bracing for heavy snow. Up to 2. 4 meters could pile up by Boxing Day. Strong winds will make conditions even worse. Travel plans might need to change.Meanwhile, Zimbabwe is also feeling the weather's wrath. Heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds are expected. A level 2 weather warning is in effect. Some areas could see over 50mm of rain in a day. Hail and frequent lightning will add to the chaos. Australia's weather is all over the place. Sydney is cooling down from scorching heat. Temperatures will drop to around 22C by Christmas Day. Perth, on the other hand, is heating up. It's expected to reach a peak of 40C around Christmas. That's 10C above average.
