Think running a marathon, but with more varied exercises. That's CrossFit. Now, you might wonder, "What if I chug some carbs during my workout? Will it make me recover better or perform like a superhero? " Well, a recent study checked this out. They gathered a bunch of CrossFit guys and had them ingest carbs or just a dummy (placebo) liquid during their workouts. They measured stuff like muscle soreness, how beat up they felt, how many reps they could bang out, and how their body responded metabolically.
Guess what? Those carbs didn't seem to make much of a difference. Muscle soreness, performance, and all that jazz were pretty much the same whether they had carbs or not.
