Early Sunday morning, a series of break-ins shook the Catonsville area, leaving business owners and locals concerned. Police were called to the 700 block of Frederick Road around 5:40 a. m. after an alarm went off at a local business. While they were there, more reports of break-ins started coming in. Photos shared online showed shattered glass doors at several businesses. Franco's, Taneytown, El Guapo, Painted Whims, and Blue Iris were among the places hit. It's possible more businesses were targeted too. This wasn't the first time something like this happened in Baltimore County. Just the day before, around 4:10 a. m. , police got reports of break-ins in the Rosedale area. Suspects were seen running away from a business at the Rosedale Village shopping center.
The owner of Fiesta Mexicana restaurant said his place was broken into, as well as Pastore's next door. Even the Family Dollar in the same shopping strip wasn't spared. Police think the same group might have hit another nearby business too. Kristen Brooks, a local resident, shared her thoughts. She said it's shocking that multiple places were hit at the same time. But sadly, it's not surprising because break-ins seem to be happening more often everywhere, not just here. This string of break-ins raises questions about security in these areas. Business owners might need to think about better ways to protect their stores. It's also a reminder for everyone to stay alert and look out for each other.
