Celebrating 95 Stars of Career Tech Excellence

Middleburg Heights, Ohio, USAThu May 07 2026
Polaris Career Center has welcomed a new cohort of 95 students into the National Technical Honor Society, an award that stands as the pinnacle of recognition for achievement in career‑technical education across the country. Only a tiny fraction—under 2 percent—of high school students nationwide earn this honor, making the class all the more remarkable. The group is split almost evenly between those who study on Polaris’s own campus and students attending satellite programs at partner schools. Notably, the school marked its 50th year of operation by inducting 50 on‑campus scholars, a symbolic milestone that ties the past to the present. To qualify, students must earn straight A’s in their Polaris program, keep at least a 95 percent attendance rate, and maintain a cumulative GPA of three or higher. Beyond academics, candidates are judged on scholarship, leadership, service and character, ensuring a well‑rounded profile.
The honor is more than a badge; it opens doors to further leadership roles. Inductees can become Polaris Student Ambassadors during their senior year, representing the school at recruitment events and connecting with future students and families. They also gain access to scholarships and industry links through partners such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research, ASE, and the Skilled Careers Coalition. Polaris credits its structured support system for helping students meet these rigorous standards. From the moment a student enrolls, Career and Enrollment Services guide them toward programs that match their interests, while the Workforce team offers internships and professional development. Daily classroom instruction reinforces attendance, commitment, and a strong work ethic, preparing graduates to enter both the workforce and further education ready for success.
