The richest stars in Britain are not just famous for their talent – they’re also building massive property empires that rival those of top financiers.
Among them, the Beckhams stand out with a portfolio worth around $205 million, covering five homes that make up almost a quarter of their total wealth. Their flagship house is a $72 million Victorian townhouse in Holland Park, London, which they bought and redecorated after 2013. Away from the city’s bustle, they own a nine‑bedroom countryside retreat in the Cotswolds that blends several historic farmhouses and includes a private lake and gardens. The couple has also snapped up luxury properties overseas, such as a waterfront mansion in Miami’s Biscayne Bay and a penthouse in a landmark tower.
F1 legend Lewis Hamilton tops the list with an estimated $150 million in real estate, representing about 33% of his net worth. His most valuable home is a $40 million mansion in Kensington, London, bought in 2017. Outside the UK, Hamilton lives in Monaco’s Fontvieille district and owns homes in Milan, Colorado’s Aspen, and New York City – a spread that protects him against market swings.
Pop star Ed Sheeran rounds out the top three, owning 27 properties worth roughly $137 million. His principal asset is a sprawling Suffolk estate that covers 16 acres and includes several connected houses, built over the last decade. Sheeran also holds dozens of London flats in prime areas such as Notting Hill, Covent Garden and Hammersmith, which serve both as personal residences and potential rental income. Internationally he owns a luxury condo in Brooklyn Heights, New York, and a villa with vineyards in Umbria, Italy.
Other big names follow: Robbie Williams has $125 million in property; Adele’s holdings total about $105 million. Elton John, Paul McCartney and Simon Cowell also feature on the list, but with lower totals of $102 million, $100 million and $50 million respectively.
The pattern shows that top earners diversify across continents, treating their real estate like a hedge fund. When London’s market dipped in 2008, those who had assets in Dubai or Miami weathered the storm. Today’s wealthy investors view overseas properties as insurance against tax changes, Brexit shocks or local downturns.
