Chris Sanagustin has just taken on a big new job. She's now the head of current programming at A+E Studios. Before this, she was the president of Pine Tree Entertainment. Now, she'll be working under Tana Jamieson, who is the co-head and executive vice president of creative affairs at A+E Studios.
Jamieson is really happy to have Sanagustin on board. She said that Sanagustin is a great creative leader. The two have worked together before on the A&E series Bates Motel. Jamieson thinks Sanagustin's experience and skills will be a big plus for the team.
Sanagustin will be in charge of all the scripted projects at A+E Studios. This includes the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer and an upcoming project based on Lars Kepler's work. Before joining Pine Tree Entertainment, Sanagustin worked at Netflix, where she was the head of Brazilian original content. Brazil is Netflix's biggest market outside the U. S.
She has also worked as the executive vice president of current programming at Universal Television. There, she was involved in some popular shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Good Girls, and The Good Place. Earlier in her career, she held senior creative positions at Universal Cable Productions, Syfy, and The WB Television Network.
Sanagustin has a background in both scripted and unscripted content. She has developed and sold projects to major platforms like Apple TV+, CBS, Hulu, NBC/Peacock, Netflix, and TBS. Her work spans various genres, including adult animation, multi-cam comedies, sci-fi mysteries, and musical dramedies.
She graduated from Johns Hopkins University, which shows she has a strong educational background to back up her extensive experience in the industry.
