Clinic attack leads to arrests
Bronx, New York, USAWed Apr 22 2026
A security guard at a Bronx urgent‑care clinic was badly hurt by two people.
The incident happened on April 14, around 2:30 p. m. , near Walton Avenue.
The guard tried to stop a fight between the attackers, but they reacted violently.
One attacker stabbed him with an unknown blade.
The other sprayed pepper‑spray, then punched and kicked the guard’s face.
Police found the victim alive when they arrived.
Doctors moved him to Lincoln Hospital; he was stable after treatment.
The attackers later turned themselves in at the 44th Precinct.
They are now facing charges for assault and weapons offenses.
One suspect, Chelese Bell, is 46 years old.
She has no prior New York City arrests and pleaded not guilty.
Her bail was set low, so she left court without payment.
The other suspect, Kevin Bell, is 45 and has a history of nine arrests, mainly for drugs.
He will be arraigned next week.
Both are believed to have fought inside the clinic before the guard intervened.
The police released photos of them a day after they surrendered.
