In a shocking turn of events, 42-year-old Shuvonne Vinson was slapped with 19 felony charges following a violent crime in Northfield Township. The incident, which occurred on January 1st, left Jennifer Bernhard, 42, and Stevie Smith, 74, dead. Vinson's outbursts in court were very dramatic. Prosecutors claim that Vinson, along with Keith Finley and Gregory Callahan, stormed the Bernhard home to take back Vinson's 4-year-old daughter, who was being fostered by the Bernhards. Unfortunately, Jennifer and Stevie were killed in front of their children. Vinson’s criminal history spans two decades, including drug, weapons, and assault charges. The community is rallying to support the Bernhard and Smith families during this difficult time.
Witnesses say the trio also stole jewelry, phones, and credit cards before kidnapping two children. Fortunately, both children were found safe at a home in Ypsilanti Township later that night. Despite being arrested, Vinson allegedly continued to threaten officers. Her co-defendants tried to downplay their roles, while Keith Finley, a registered sex offender, refused to be arraigned. The families of the victims find solace in their faith, with a fundraiser launched to cover funeral expenses. In a statement, Anna Fanelli described Jennifer and Stevie as kind, caring, and deeply involved in their community.
