Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, is feeling confident about the future of cryptocurrency. He recently shared his thoughts with CNBC, saying he believes the crypto market will reach new heights in 2026. However, he didn't specify which cryptocurrencies he thinks will lead the charge or provide any specific price targets. Last December, Garlinghouse made a more detailed prediction at the Binance Blockchain Week. He forecasted that Bitcoin would hit $180, 000 by the end of 2026. If this happens, Bitcoin would be trading around 43% above its current all-time high of $126, 080 and more than 100% above its current trading price of $89, 446. Garlinghouse also mentioned that the passing of the CLARITY Act, which he expected to happen in the first half of 2026, would boost the entire crypto industry. This legislation, also known as the U. S. crypto market structure bill, has seen some recent drama. American crypto exchange Coinbase pulled its support for the bill, seeking a more balanced outcome between the crypto industry and traditional banks. Despite this, President Trump expressed his hope to sign the bill soon.
When it comes to XRP, the cryptocurrency linked to Ripple, Garlinghouse remained tight-lipped. He did, however, express his commitment to the XRP ecosystem, stating that Ripple is a very invested party in its success. XRP made a significant move last year, breaking a seven-year drought and reaching a new all-time high of $3. 65 in July. Since then, it has fallen around 47%, currently trading around $1. 92. Predictors on Myriad’s prediction market aren't as optimistic about XRP's near-term prospects. They give only a 42% chance of the asset pumping to $2. 69 before dumping to $1. 42. This suggests that many predictors expect a drop in price before any potential surge.
