Daniel Sunjata, who plays Detective Karadec on the crime drama High Potential, recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of the show getting a second season. The series, which premiered in winter 2025, follows former LAPD crime scene cleanup specialist Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) as she works as a consultant for the police, alongside Sunjata's character and other key players like Daphne (Javicia Leslie), Oz (Deniz Akdeniz), and Selena (Judy Reyes).
Sunjata believes there's a strong chance for a renewal, thanks to the show's positive reception. He mentioned that the number of viewers tuning in each week indicates a dedicated audience that supports the series. The actor also highlighted the deepening friendship between Morgan and Karadec, which was showcased in the winter premiere.
High Potential has been a significant part of ABC's Tuesday night lineup. Its unique take on a police procedural has earned critical acclaim. The show's ratings for the first seven episodes averaged 6. 6 million viewers, outperforming another new series on ABC, Doctor Odyssey.
While there's no official confirmation yet, Sunjata's optimism is based on the show's strong performance. If High Potential can maintain its viewership, there's a good chance it will be renewed for a second season.
