DC Defenders Ready to Battle Home Crowd in the United Bowl
Washington, D.C., USAThu Jun 11 2026
The DC Defenders aim to keep their crown when they head to Audi Field for the United Bowl, facing the Louisville Kings.
The matchup will be shown on ABC7 and is set for Saturday night.
During a 7News interview, Lois Cook, the United Bowl host and Audi Field’s in‑game official, teased fans about a hard‑fought showdown. She noted that the Defenders, champions last year, will try to prove they can win again on their own turf.
Cook also highlighted the Kings’ surprising run: a rookie squad that upset Washington twice during the season. The Kings earned their spot by beating Orlando in the playoffs, while DC had earlier beaten Orlando twice before clinching the title.
Fans at Audi Field can expect a lively crowd and special traditions, such as Washington’s “beer snake. ”For the championship, organizers will create a new “Golden Snake” with gold cups supplied by a league partner.
The game will also feature entertainment: rapper 50 Cent will perform at halftime, and Mix Master Mike—Hall of Fame inductee and former Beastie Boys member—will appear. The national anthem will be sung by Voices of Service, a group of Army veterans.
Cook urged families to come for an affordable night out that mixes thrilling football with music and fun activities. The event promises action on the field and excitement off it, making it a full‑blown celebration.
Tickets are still available for the Saturday game at Audi Field, and viewers can watch the championship on ABC7.
