Detecting STIs in Abused Kids: Should Turkey Upgrade to PCR Testing?

In Turkey, traditional culture methods are still commonly used for STI testing, even though PCR tests are considered the best. This project aims to find out if Child Advocacy Centers in Turkey should start using PCR tests regularly. Currently, many centers in Turkey don't use PCR tests often. This could be because PCR tests are more expensive or not readily available. But the truth is, PCR tests are more accurate and can detect infections earlier than traditional methods.If more centers in Turkey start using PCR tests, it could help detect more STIs in abused children. This could lead to better care and support for these children. It could also help investigations by providing clearer evidence. But there are challenges to using PCR tests. They might be more expensive and require special equipment. Training staff to use and interpret PCR results might also take time. So, the big question is: Should Turkey invest in PCR testing for Child Advocacy Centers? It's a tough call, but it's important to consider the benefits and challenges carefully.
