A special program is open for applications until Monday. This program is designed to help people grow as leaders. It is called the Leadership Institute Cohort. It is run by the New Jersey Black Women’s Collective. This group was started in 2021. It is the first of its kind in New Jersey. The group focuses on helping Black women leaders grow.
The program is held at Mercer County Community College. It started in 2023. The program helps leaders in any field. It teaches them important skills. These skills help them solve problems and achieve their goals. The program has 15 sessions. These sessions run from February 7, 2026, to June 6, 2026. They are held at the college’s Conference Center in West Windsor Township.
Anyone can apply. The deadline is Monday, January 5, 2026. The program is open to people of any race, gender, or ethnicity. Assemblywoman Tennille R. McCoy helped start the organization. She said the idea came from a meeting. The meeting was with the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce. They wanted to know what women needed to grow as leaders. That’s how the Leadership Institute Cohort was born.
Each session covers a different topic. Topics include workplace politics and fundraising. One session is called “Little P in Politics. ” It teaches people how to handle politics at work. Another session is “Think Like A CFO. ” It helps people understand their organization’s finances. The program also includes virtual sessions. All sessions are led by keynote speakers and facilitators.
The program is limited to 25 people. It includes college-level courses, leadership assessments, and workshops. There are also networking lunches and panel discussions. Topics range from leadership to personal development. Participants also learn Tai Chi. This is an ancient Chinese exercise. It helps with strength, flexibility, and stress reduction. There is also a golf clinic. It helps people feel comfortable on a golf course. This can help with networking and events.
