Famous Soap Opera Star Fights Cancer with Courage

Suzanne Rogers, the well-known actress from "Days of Our Lives, " has been dealing with a serious health issue. She found out earlier this year that she has Stage II colorectal cancer. Even though she was getting regular check-ups, she noticed something wasn't quite right. After visiting the doctor and running some tests, she got the shocking news. Her doctor told her she had cancer and needed to start treatment right away. She was surprised because she thought she was taking good care of herself. But her doctor said catching it early was a good thing.Rogers finished her work on the show in June and started treatment just a few days later. It was tough. She had to go through radiation and chemotherapy every day for six weeks. She said it was hard to keep up with the treatments five days a week, but she enjoyed her weekends off. The cast and producers were very supportive. Her co-star, Linsey Godfrey, even went with her to her chemo appointments. Rogers has been a part of the show for over 50 years, playing Maggie Horton. She finished her treatment at the end of July and is planning to go back to work soon. She said the hardest part was feeling tired all the time. She's usually full of energy, so this was a big change for her. But she's starting to feel better and is happy about it. She's not back to 100% yet, but she's getting there.
