The gut microbiome analysis revealed an increase in beneficial bacteria and a decrease in harmful bacteria in the HTC and CC groups. The Firmicutes-to-Bacteroidetes ratio also decreased in both HTC and CC groups, although this change was not significant.
These findings suggest that Cheonggukjang, especially with high beneficial microorganism content, could be a promising alternative for managing menopausal symptoms and improving metabolic health. The study highlights the potential of fermented foods in supporting women's health during menopause.
