Five years in prison for a Lexington woman caught with drugs and a gun
Columbia, South Carolina, USATue Jun 02 2026
A Lexington woman recently received a five-year federal prison sentence for being involved in a drug deal where she also provided a firearm. Federal records show she was sentenced by a U. S. District Judge for her role in the incident. After her prison term, she will be under court supervision for five more years, with no possibility of early release.
The case began when law enforcement used a confidential informant to make a controlled purchase. The informant arranged to meet the woman at a public storage unit in West Columbia. When the informant arrived, the woman and another person showed up shortly after. During the meeting, she handed over two ounces of methamphetamine and a gun as part of the deal. Both drugs and firearms are illegal to possess or distribute, making this a serious offense under federal law.
Federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) worked alongside local deputies to investigate the case. Their findings led to charges that carry mandatory minimum sentences in the U. S. federal system. The woman will first finish any state-level sentence she has before starting her federal term.
