To put that into perspective, a typical full-service supermarket in Boston redeems around $82, 000 per month in SNAP benefits.Investigators went undercover and uncovered a disturbing pattern. The defendants were found to be exchanging SNAP benefits for cash, a clear violation of the program's rules. Adding insult to injury, these stores were also allegedly selling liquor in exchange for SNAP benefits, further exploiting a system meant to help those in need.
