A frost warning covers five counties tonight, from Hunterdon to western Passaic. The alert starts at 11 p. m. Saturday and ends at 9 a. m. Sunday, when temperatures will fall to the mid‑30s.
On Sunday, the sky clears and the air dries out. Winds pick up to 15‑20 mph, with gusts reaching 30 mph. Daytime highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Monday brings a slight lift in temperature, staying dry. Highs rise into the upper 60s to low 70s.
Tuesday is the warmest day of the week. Temperatures climb into the 70s across most of the state, and wind gusts hit 20‑25 mph. Some showers may appear Tuesday night north of the I‑95 corridor.
Wednesday and Thursday see a slow‑moving system bringing widespread rain. Heavy downpours are expected from late Wednesday night through Thursday evening, especially in the northern half of the state where an inch or more is possible. The system also carries a risk of strong to severe thunderstorms.
Wind gusts will remain brisk during this period, with speeds of 20‑30 mph possible on both days.
