Fun and Free Thrills at Mammoth Fest

Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, Mt. Pleasant, USAMon Jun 01 2026
A family headed to the park in Mt. Pleasant found a day packed with rides, games and tasty treats. The county’s long‑running event attracted more than 10, 000 people on a sunny day that hit the mid‑70s. The main goal is to give families a budget‑friendly outing: entry and parking are free, while a pack of unlimited ride tickets is only $5. Many attendees say the price can’t be beaten, especially when the rides alone feel worth every penny. The festival’s carnival vibe extends beyond the coaster and bumper cars. Food stalls offer everything from burgers and gyros to deep‑fried cookies, Polish platters and chilled drinks.
Entertainment is aimed at all ages: arts and crafts booths, bingo tables, two live bands that switch between garage rock, soul, indie tunes and country‑rock, plus face painting, candle making and a petting zoo. Over 60 craft vendors sell unique items like handmade fishing lures, beer‑can pepper shakers and more. The variety of stalls has increased from about 40 last year to a larger selection this season, according to the park coordinator. Kids of all ages find their favorite activities—one three‑year‑old loved the inflatable obstacle course, while a toddler was gently guided onto a pirate ship by a cousin. The county plans to keep the festival going, with another arts and heritage event scheduled for Twin Lakes Park next.
