Gaza is in deep trouble. Heavy rain and strong winds have killed 14 people, including three kids. The health boss in Gaza says the storms have made life even harder for people already struggling.
Many Palestinians live in tents or temporary homes because the war destroyed their houses. These shelters are no match for the rain. Oxfam, a group that helps people in need, says the tents are flooding with water, sewage, and mud. They blame this on the fact that not enough aid is getting in.
People are begging for help. One woman, Um Mustafa, told how her food and clothes got soaked. She screamed for help in the middle of the night. Her kids were drenched, and she had nothing to keep them warm or dry.
The storms have destroyed over 27, 000 tents. A baby named Rahaf died from the cold. The Hamas-run government says this disaster has hurt at least 250, 000 people.
Israel and Hamas agreed to a truce in October. This allowed aid to start flowing into Gaza. But Oxfam says Israel is still blocking important supplies like shelter materials, fuel, and water infrastructure. They say this is making the situation worse.
Israel says they are doing their part. They claim hundreds of trucks full of aid enter Gaza every day. They also say they have sent nearly 270, 000 tents and tarps to Gaza. But the people on the ground tell a different story.
The truce is shaky. The US wants to move to the next phase, but Israel has conditions. They want the last dead hostage returned and are resisting efforts to deal with remaining Hamas fighters in southern Gaza.
