It’s no secret that technology is transforming the way we work. A recent study found that a whopping 88% of Gen Z uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help them with their jobs. This generation, known for its tech-savviness, turns to AI to beat what some call “task paralysis”—feeling overwhelmed by work duties. About 82% of these young professionals reported that AI helps them overcome this challenge, streamlining their workflow and making everyday tasks a breeze. Gen Z isn't shy about using AI to ease into their roles. They use AI to draft emails, take notes in meetings, and even renegotiate salaries. These digital natives are also showing off their creative side, like creating “hire me” TikToks instead of traditional resumes. The study, conducted by Google Workspace, surveyed over 1, 000 young leaders aged between 22 and 39. It found that 93% of Gen Z and 79% of millennials use at least two AI tools weekly.
But why the heavy reliance on AI? It's not just about laziness. This tech can enhance soft skills like collaboration, communication, and leadership. AI helps get work done faster and more efficiently. It's changing the way young professionals approach their jobs. “The future of work is here — and it’s AI-powered, ” said Yulie Kwon Kim, Vice President of Product at Google Workspace. AI isn’t just a shortcut; it’s a powerful tool that’s shaping how the next generation works and grows in their careers.
