Ghirardelli Mixes Pulled After Possible Salmonella Risk
San Francisco, CA, USA,Sat May 02 2026
A batch of Ghirardelli powdered drinks has been taken off shelves because the company suspects that a key ingredient might be contaminated with Salmonella.
The recall follows an earlier pull of milk powder from a supplier in California that raised similar concerns.
This milk powder is used in several of the beverage mixes, so Ghirardelli decided to act quickly.
The products affected include a range of chocolate and cocoa mixes in both bulk and ready‑to‑mix forms.
They are sold mainly to restaurants, but many customers can buy them online as well.
Salmonella is a dangerous bacteria that can cause fever, vomiting and diarrhea in healthy people, and more severe illness in young kids, the elderly or those with weak immune systems.
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration says no illnesses have been linked to these products yet, but it is still safer to avoid them.
If you own any of the recalled items, do not use them.
Dispose of the product immediately and keep the packaging in case you need to prove it was recalled.
Should you have already drank one of these mixes and feel unwell, seek medical help right away.
For more details or to ask for a refund, check Ghirardelli’s recall notice online or call their customer line at 855‑744‑1426.
