Golf fans eagerly awaiting the big merger between PGA Tour and PIF might have to wait a bit longer. Guy Kinnings, the CEO of DP World Tour, recently said the sport is in great shape but needs some changes. He added that the merger process isn't as simple as some people think. Rory McIlroy, a top golfer, hasn't heard about any final deal either. Even Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour commissioner, hasn't said much about the merger. To make things clearer, the DP World Tour has released its 2025 schedule, which looks a lot like the 2024 one. This suggests the merger could take more time.
When it comes to big golf events, the Rolex Series will still be the main attraction. These five big tournaments will happen throughout the year, starting with the Dubai Desert Classic in January and ending with the DPWT Championship in November. LIV Golf has also revealed its 2025 schedule, and it looks similar to DP World Tour's. This could mean the merger might not happen soon. So, fans will just have to wait and see what happens next.
