Harry Styles is embarking on a world tour, but fans are not happy. The "Together Together Tour" will visit seven cities, including Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne, and Sydney. The tour includes a 30-night residency at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Tickets for the tour went on sale with an Amex presale on Monday. Fans quickly took to social media to express their shock at the high ticket prices, which were over $700 on Ticketmaster. Many fans compared the prices to Styles' last tour and found them to be much higher, with some tickets reaching $1, 000 for seats that are not even on the floor.
Fans also pointed out the use of "Platinum" or "Dynamic Pricing" by Ticketmaster, which increases prices based on demand. This is not just a problem with Harry Styles' tour. Many other artists, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Zach Bryan, Sabrina Carpenter, Sleep Token, Ghost, and Green Day, have also faced similar issues with Ticketmaster. Fans often struggle with the ticketing system, facing error codes, long wait times, and high prices.
Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino has downplayed consumer frustration over rising ticket costs, calling them "underpriced. " He compared concert ticket prices to sports tickets, which can be much higher. However, fans might not see a decrease in ticket prices anytime soon. Live Nation continues to dominate the industry, with revenue climbing 11% from last year to $8. 5 billion and adjusted operating income up 14% to $1. 03 billion during its third quarter report last year.
The "Together Together Tour" will continue ticket sales with an Artist Presale on Jan. 27 and Jan. 29, with general onsales starting Friday, Jan. 30 for many dates. The later October MSG dates shift to a February on-sale window, with Amex presales beginning Feb. 2, Artist Presales Feb. 3, and general onsale on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
For international dates, Ticketmaster's event listings and major tour roundups indicate general onsales vary by market. Amsterdam and London are slated for Friday, Jan. 30 (local time), and Melbourne and Sydney also roll into Jan. 30 (local time). São Paulo is earlier, with general onsale listed for Wednesday, Jan. 28, while Mexico City is listed for Thursday, Jan. 29. Presales overseas differ by city as well, so fans are advised to double-check their specific event page for the most up-to-date timing.
