High School Sports Highlights: May 25‑31

The weekend saw a flurry of high school games across the region. In baseball, Dixie Heights won 1‑0 over Covington Catholic in a tight KHSAA 9th Region quarterfinal. Ryle edged Highlands 3‑1, while Conner dominated St. Henry with a 9‑4 score. Beechwood outplayed Newport Central Catholic, finishing 9‑1.In the KHSAA 10th Region, Campbell County beat Bracken County 5‑0 and Scott defeated Mason County 7‑1. The softball scene was equally busy: Woodford County triumphed over Simon Kenton 10‑6, and Highlands beat Conner 3‑1. Notre Dame won easily against Villa Madonna 5‑0, and Dixie Heights outscored Holy Cross 13‑7. Ryle had a dominant showing, shutting out Newport Central Catholic 15‑0 after four innings. Bishop Brossart secured an 8‑5 win over Bracken County, while George Rogers Clark edged Pendleton County 10‑9. These results were submitted by coaches and their reps.
