Netflix is set to remove a number of titles from its streaming service in January, including the crime drama Hightown. This show, which had a successful run on Starz, will be leaving Netflix after just six months. Hightown, created by Rebecca Cutter, will be available on Netflix until January 23, 2026. All three seasons, totaling 25 episodes, will be taken off the platform. Cutter is also known for creating The Hunting Wives, which became a hit on Netflix in 2025.
The show is set in Cape Cod and follows Monica Raymund as Jackie Quiñones, a marine fisheries agent who gets involved in a murder investigation and a probe into opioid abuse. Other notable actors in the series include Riley Voelkel, James Badge Dale, Dohn Norwood, Shane Harper, and Amaury Nolasco. Hightown received mixed reviews. The first season, which aired from May to July 2020, had an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 62 rating on Metacritic. Critics noted that while the show had its strengths, it lost some momentum in later episodes. On IMDb, Hightown has a rating of 6. 9 out of 10, based on over 9, 000 fan reviews. While the show had its fans, it seems it didn't quite make the cut for Netflix's long-term lineup.
