A study by Herbalife found that 24% of Americans are still carrying extra weight from last year's holiday season. On average, that's nearly 10 pounds! As the end of 2024 approaches, many expect to gain another six pounds. The survey, called "Holiday Healthy Habits, " showed that half of Americans feel less healthy this time of year. They use the holidays as an excuse to put off healthy eating, with 64% of Gen Z admitting this.
Many break their diets due to holiday food temptations. Younger generations are more likely to give in to temptation. Stress from current events, like the economy and presidential election, also plays a role. Despite this, two-thirds plan to adopt healthy habits in 2025, estimating it will take about 18 days to get back on track. Top resolutions include eating healthier, saving money, and exercising more.
