He said he had no fond memories of the city, describing it as a place filled with “left‑wing and superficial” people. During a chat with actor Luke Grimes, Rogan reflected on his own career path, which included fighting and acting. He admitted that money was a major driver for him at times, saying he would “just figure it out” if his acting prospects dwindled. Grimes noted that Rogan’s mindset was unique in Hollywood, and it helped him succeed. Rogan expressed a strong desire to leave Los Angeles. He said he hated being around actors, producers, and casting agents because they were “fake. ” Instead, he preferred the company of fighters, comedians, and pool players—people he described as “raw, funny outcasts. ”He claimed that in the entertainment industry, everyone seemed to follow a set of predetermined ideas. According to him, this “groupthink” made people say what they thought the industry wanted, rather than speaking their own truth. The podcaster is not alone in his view. Many celebrities hold liberal views but criticize the extreme leftist tendencies they see in Hollywood. Grimes added that he noticed a trend of people trying to become the same person, without knowing what that person should be. Rogan warned that when a whole industry shares the same politics, it can lead to problems. He said this “progressive left‑wing” consensus often feels forced and doesn’t always make sense. Grimes highlighted how those who leave their hometowns for Hollywood can become obsessed with success, losing their original voice. Rogan agreed that comedians often soften their material once they reach television, avoiding anything that might cause trouble.
