HoloLens: Microsoft Says Goodbye to Mix Reality Hardware

It seems like Microsoft is giving up on making HoloLens headsets. They stopped selling the HoloLens 2. Users can still get support until 2027. So, that means their business won't release another HoloLens. Companies are always buying and selling contracts. They were in charge of a huge contract with the U. S. Army. Microsoft decided to move on. The deal has been taken over by a company named Anduril. Now that they are on the project they will keep using Azure. What happened to HoloLens? It was supposed to be a game-changer. Microsoft's mixed reality headset was expected to be a big hit for consumers and businesses. Microsoft's HoloLens was not able to become very popular. It had some trouble. For example, the head of the HoloLens project, Alex Kipman, left the company. Then there were rumors about a new headset to compete with Apple's Vision Pro, but those plans are no longer going to happen. Microsoft's decision to quit The HoloLens 2 in October 2024 was a big deal. Microsoft had high hopes for the HoloLens. They thought it would be big in the mixed-reality market. At the end of the day, Microsoft is moving on from HoloLens. So, their focus will be on cloud and AI technologies.
