Travis Scott's Cactus Jack Foundation is teaming up with NASA to give Houston's students a head start in STEM. The foundation, which supports education and community initiatives, has joined forces with Space Center Houston to create a new program for local students. The program, which ran for eight weeks, paired students from Houston with NASA engineers. The students received hands-on experience in design, coding, and fabrication, according to All Hip-Hop. The course was held at the Cact. Us Design Center and Space Center Houston. At the end of the program, the students presented their final projects. These included a lunar water filtration system, a moon rover, and a food-preserving habitat structure. Travis Scott and Space Center Houston Chief Science Officer Megan McArthur were on hand to view the projects.
Travis Scott expressed his excitement about the partnership with NASA. He said that the program is designed to enrich students' lives and inspire them to pursue careers in STEM fields. Jordan Webster, director of Education Partnerships for the Cactus Jack Foundation, echoed these sentiments, stating that the foundation's mission is to open new educational pathways for youth. The Cactus Jack Foundation generates around $240 million annually. This funding allows the foundation to support a wide range of educational initiatives, including the partnership with Space Center Houston. William T. Harris, president and CEO of Space Center Houston, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. He said that the program is designed to prepare the next generation of creators and problem solvers from the heart of Houston. The partnership between the Cactus Jack Foundation and Space Center Houston is just the beginning. The two organizations plan to continue working together to provide more opportunities for Houston's students. With the support of Travis Scott and NASA, the future looks bright for Houston's young innovators.
