The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under President Donald Trump is taking a different approach to environmental protection. Instead of focusing on regulations, they are encouraging innovation. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin shared his thoughts on this new direction during an event with Breitbart News.
Zeldin has seen firsthand how high the standards for environmental care are in the United States. He has met with many companies, industries, and communities. They all strive to meet these high standards. He believes that innovation and using our own energy resources is safer and better for the environment.
One example of this innovation is a project in Texas. Exxon Mobil is breaking down plastic into raw materials. This is just one of many exciting projects happening across the country. Zeldin has been to several groundbreakings recently. These include a $4 billion data center in West Memphis, Arkansas, a nuclear project in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and a new data center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Zeldin also mentioned a new mining operation near Cheyenne. He is recording a video to celebrate a $5. 3 billion natural gas expansion in Arizona. This project will transport natural gas from the Permian Basin to Arizona. There are many other projects like this happening across the country.
Zeldin believes that experiencing these projects firsthand is important. He thinks that people who only talk about regulations from an office in D. C. may not be as well prepared. He describes the work being done as very "multi-dimensional. "
