Iran is sending a team to a big United Nations meeting about the environment. The meeting is called UNEA-7. It will happen in Nairobi, Kenya, from December 8 to 12. The team from Iran will be led by Shina Ansari, who is in charge of the Department of Environment.
At this meeting, Iran wants to talk about big problems like sand and dust storms in Southeast Asia. They also want to say that environmental issues should not be affected by sanctions. Climate change will be a big topic too. Iran wants to discuss how it affects their country. This includes things like higher temperatures, changing rain patterns, and severe droughts.
The UNEA is the most important group in the world for making decisions about the environment. It started in 2012 after a big United Nations meeting. Since 2014, they have had six meetings. At these meetings, they have made 105 decisions. These decisions cover many important issues. Some of these issues are air pollution, biodiversity, plastic pollution, and climate change.
The theme for UNEA-7 is \'Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet\'. This means they want to find ways to make the planet stronger and safer. They believe that a fair and inclusive world depends on sustainable development. This includes economic growth, social development, and protecting the environment.
