Kevin Spacey Reaches Settlements With Accusers, Halting London Trial

Kevin Spacey has reached agreements with three men who accused him of sexual assault. The civil case that was set to go to trial in London has been paused because of these settlements, though the amounts and details are not public. One accuser, Ruari Cannon, gave up his anonymity and also settled with the Old Vic theatre. Cannon says Spacey groped him at a party while Spacey was the artistic director there. He appeared in the 2024 documentary “Spacey Unmasked. ” The other two men remain unnamed but also claim that Spacey assaulted them. They had filed civil lawsuits in the High Court after the 2023 criminal trial, where Spacey was cleared of nine charges that involved four men.Spacey has consistently denied all allegations. In the criminal trial, he was found not guilty of sexual assault and other accusations that dated from 2001 to 2013. Since the trial, Spacey has tried to rebuild his career. He has taken on small film roles, directed projects, and attended festivals. Last year he said he had no permanent home and was staying in hotels or Airbnbs while performing as a lounge singer in Cyprus. S. civil case filed by actor Anthony Rapp, who claimed Spacey molested him when he was 14.
