Lamborghini Faces 2025 Profit Drop: Tariffs, Currency and EV Back‑Off

ItalyThu Mar 19 2026
Lamborghini reported lower profits for 2025, even though it made a record amount of money. The drop comes from U. S. tariffs that hit sales and profit margins in its biggest market. Last year the company raised prices, but that did not fully cover the extra tariff costs. The operating margin fell to 24 % from 27 % a year earlier. To fight the pressure, Lamborghini cut costs and sold more high‑priced cars. The 515 000 euro Revuelto sports car helped, and customers asked for more custom‑made options. Almost every car sold in 2025 had at least one personalized feature. CEO Stephan Winkelmann said the company will not raise prices again this year.
He added that it is too early to predict 2026 numbers because of uncertainties like the Middle East war, which affects oil supply and logistics. These disruptions could lower demand for luxury cars that have high margins. Earlier this year, Lamborghini cancelled plans to launch a fully electric sports car by 2030. The decision was due to weak demand and doubts about the return on large investments. Winkelmann noted that many customers have tried EVs, but their experience did not meet expectations. He said the brand is still developing in‑house EV technology for future needs. Instead of an electric model, Lamborghini will introduce a plug‑in hybrid called Lanzador in 2030. The car will be a “2+2” seat Grand Tourer, joining the existing three all‑hybrid models.
