Liam Neeson, the 72-year-old action movie star, is considering calling it quits. In a recent interview, he admitted that his days as an action hero might be numbered. "I'm 72, it has to stop at some stage, " he said. Neeson, known for his roles in "Taken" and "The A-Team, " believes he can't keep fooling audiences with his physically demanding roles. He's thinking of retiring by the end of next year.
Despite his age, Neeson still performs his own fight scenes. However, he leaves the more intense stunts to his longtime stunt double, Mark Vanselow. Neeson wants to maintain his dignity in his final action films. "I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me, " he said.
Neeson's career spans over four decades, including war dramas like "Schindler's List" and blockbusters like "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace. " He's even dabbled in romantic comedies such as "Love Actually. " But it's his action roles that have made him a household name.
In addition to his action movies, Neeson is also set to appear in the remake of "The Naked Gun" in 2025. He's playing the role of Frank Drebin Jr. , a hapless cop. While Neeson doubts his comedic skills, his co-star Pamela Anderson thinks he's perfectly cast.
Back in 2021, Neeson had already hinted at retirement. He mentioned he had a few more action films in the pipeline, but that would likely be it. His earlier comments about superhero movies and not wanting to return to the "Star Wars" franchise show his desire to move away from certain genres.
