Local High School Athletes Shine Bright in Recent Games

High school athletes from the Cincinnati area have been making waves in their respective sports. The recent games have seen some impressive performances, with teams and individuals standing out.
Basketball teams have been on a roll. St. Xavier's boys basketball team won three games in a row, while Norwood's team secured two victories. Ursuline Academy's girls basketball team also had a notable win against Summit Country Day. In Northern Kentucky, Grant County's boys basketball team is currently on a seven-game winning streak.
Individual players have also shown remarkable skills. Johnny Vieth from St. Xavier scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds in a key game. Matthew Dick from Eastern had an outstanding performance with 24 points and nine rebounds. Anna Bain from St. Henry contributed significantly with 15 points and four rebounds in a crucial match.
Bowling teams have also been performing well. Elder's boys bowling team won the Holiday Classic, and Taylor's girls bowling team is currently undefeated with a 5-0 record. Jace Amann from La Salle and Josh Royse from Deer Park had standout performances in their respective matches.
Swimming and diving have seen some impressive times as well. John Larson from Talawanda improved his 100-yard butterfly time to win in 54. 99 seconds. Maddie Roos from Seton won the 50-yard freestyle in 25. 78 seconds and placed second in the 100-yard butterfly. Peyton Brinkman from Ryle took first place at 107 pounds in the Cardinal Clash, going 4-0 including two pins and a tech fall.
Wrestling has also been a highlight. Luke Freund from Wyoming won the 285-pound title at the SWOWCA Coaches Classic and is currently undefeated for the year with 14 pins. Laylla Sears from Blanchester went 4-0 in the 100-pound pool with three pins at the Washington Court House Queen of the Jungle.
Winning athletes and teams can now access their certificates digitally. The Enquirer has made digital copies of all certificates available to families by 8 a. m. the Monday after the Friday win. Families can access the PDFs through a public Dropbox link.
