Local High School Basketball Showdowns: Who Came Out on Top?

Basketball courts across the region buzzed with energy as teams battled it out on Monday, December 22. The girls' games saw some impressive performances. Kailynn Thompson from Bay Port scored a whopping 30 points, leading her team to a solid win. Meanwhile, Kaia Waldrop from Notre Dame also had a standout game with 22 points, helping her team secure a victory. Over in the boys' games, Algoma pulled off a thrilling one-point win against Luxemburg-Casco in overtime. Joseph Daly from New London was a standout player, scoring 32 points in his team's victory over Denmark.In the girls' matchups, De Pere dominated Homestead with a strong first-half performance, while Notre Dame put on a scoring clinic against Waukesha North/South, racking up 57 points in just the first half. Xavier edged out West De Pere in a close game, and Mishicot's Kensington Rosenow had a remarkable 31-point game against Green Bay East. Crivitz also had a strong showing, with Kiya Brand scoring 21 points to lead her team to victory. On the boys' side, Marion led by 14 points at halftime to secure their win over Gillett. New London had a balanced attack with four players scoring in double figures, led by Joseph Daly's 32 points. These games showcased some impressive individual performances and team efforts, making for an exciting night of high school basketball.
