Los Angeles in Crisis: A Personal View
Los Angeles, USASun May 17 2026
He grew up here, so he knows the city well.
For about eight or nine years, and especially in the last four, he says Los Angeles has fallen apart.
He tells of a homeless woman who smashed his car with a rock, and he felt powerless to help.
He wonders if arresting her would fix anything or just add more trouble.
The city’s fires are another big problem.
Fire trucks were out of service, water pressure was low, and many people lost their homes because leaders didn’t act.
Now the city blames others instead of fixing the real issues.
Insurance companies also hurt people after the fires.
One friend, an architect named Dan Brun, teamed up with 100 other architects to rebuild damaged neighborhoods.
He even reached out to state officials, but the plan never got approved by the city.
Overall, he thinks Los Angeles is not working.
He believes that if people stay in their homes and the city takes responsibility, things could get better.
