A Maine Senate candidate, Graham Platner, is going through some big changes in his team. His finance director, Holmes, recently left. Holmes had worked on other political campaigns before, like those of Chris Swanson and Rep. Josh Riley.
Platner's campaign has been doing well with money. They raised over $3. 2 million in just six weeks. Most of this money came from small donors. The campaign says they are happy with this because it shows a lot of people support them.
A spokesperson for Platner said that Holmes helped with big donors. But the campaign is doing great with small donors. They said that almost 90% of their money comes from small online donations. They also said their digital fundraising director is doing a good job.
Platner went from being an oysterman to a well-known Senate candidate quickly. He got support from Sen. Bernie Sanders. But he also faced some problems. He had to say sorry for some old Reddit posts. He also covered up a tattoo that some people thought was a Nazi symbol.
Even with these problems, Platner keeps campaigning. He has been holding town halls across Maine. His campaign also started an ad. It asks voters to say no to a voter-ID measure in November.
