The Dallas Mavericks have hired CAA Sports, a branch of the global entertainment firm Creative Artists Agency, to hunt for naming‑right partners and other sponsors for their upcoming arena.
This move marks a key step toward the team’s plan to leave the American Airlines Center in 2031 and open a new home in five years.
CEO Rick Welts said the partnership is “critical to our success, ” while President Ethan Casson called it a “foundational moment. ”
CAA Sports has handled more than $15 billion in sponsorship deals since 2007.
They helped the Golden State Warriors secure $1. 4 billion for the Chase Center and guided the San Francisco 49ers to a $1. 2 billion Levi’s Stadium deal.
The agency also worked on the Clippers’ Intuit Dome and is involved with the A’s Las Vegas ballpark project.
The Mavericks have narrowed their arena search to two Dallas sites: downtown and the Valley View Center at Preston Road and I‑635.
A decision is expected by July, according to Welts.
Danforth, CAA’s managing director, highlighted Dallas’s rapid growth in business and technology as a perfect backdrop for the project.
CAA Sports focuses on one NBA arena at a time, giving the Mavericks full attention.
Its global team can attract international brands, matching the NBA’s worldwide reach where 30 % of players are foreign‑born.
The agency aims to create a “next‑generation” venue that blends cutting‑edge tech with an unforgettable fan experience.
The Mavericks want a Texas‑flavored arena, distinct from the Chase Center but offering luxury and local personality.
They hope to become a hub for basketball, live events, and community impact in North Texas.
